Here are the definitions of the available statuses:

COMPLETED means the transactions has been completed and payment has been processed successfully. A transaction with this status can be changed to CANCELED by checking the "Cancel this registration?" checkbox.

CANCELED means that the person who completed a transaction has withdrawn from attending the event. A transaction with this status can be changed to COMPLETED by checking the "Complete this registration?" checkbox.

PENDING means that the transaction was abandoned or payment has not been processed. It is used for audit purposes only. A transaction with this status cannot be altered.
