Biology
Biology LECTURE course wait list information:
Students should attend the first session of the course
you wish to enroll. The instructor will announce if
the course is "open" or "closed". If the course is
OPEN, you may add the course via WebReg on a first
come, first served basis anytime during the first
two weeks of the course. If the course is CLOSED and
you are on the wait list or would like to be added to
the wait list you must go to the Biology Student
Affairs Office, 1128 Pacific Hall by Friday
of the first week of the quarter. Students who do
not confirm their interest in a CLOSED class will be
considered dropped from the wait list. NO ADD CARDS
ARE REQUIRED except for pre-requisite overrides.
IMPORTANT BIOLOGY LAB COURSE INFORMATION: Students who
enroll in any of the following Biology laboratory
courses: BIBC 103, BIBC 105, BICD 101, BIEB 121, BIMM
101, BIMM 121, BIMM 127, BIPN 105 will be charged a $50
lab fee which will be assessed with registration fees.
Instructors will pre-authorize students to add into
these courses from the Registrar's wait list. Place
your name on the wait list via WebReg and attend the
first class meeting. Seniors lose their preference if
they enroll in the lab after their Senior registration
priority period.
Students who do not attend the first 30 minutes of the
first scheduled meeting (be it lab or lecture) will be
considered not enrolled in the course. Prior written
notification to the instructor regarding an anticipated
absence will ensure a space. Responsibility, however,
for dropping the lab from the Registrar's records
belongs to the student. If a student drops a lab
course after the end of the second lab session, the
department will report a "W" for the course. Students
who are pre-authorized to add from the waitlist must
add themselves to the class via WebReg during the Add/
Drop period.
Prerequisites are enforced on all Biology courses.
Students who have satisfied the prerequisites of a
course at another college or by AP credit need to be
pre-authorized to enroll. Please come the Biology
Student Affairs office BEFORE your priority enrollment
to be pre-authorized.
