Mathematics (MATH )
See Class Sections Below
UCSD Mathematics Add/Drop Procedures: Prior to the
first day of classes, students may add or drop open
sections through WebReg. The Mathematics Department
operates a computerized Add/Drop Center during the
first two weeks of classes. Students on WebReg wait
lists are incorporated into the Mathematics
Department's Add/Drop program and WebReg is
inactivated for all math courses during the first 2
weeks of classes. Students wishing to add, drop, or
change their enrollment need to go to the Add/Drop
Center at 2420A APM to have a card stamped during the
following hours: First week: ( March 28 - April 1st, 2005) 9:00-12:00 &
1:00-3:00
Second week: ( April 4-8, 2005) 10:00-2:00.
The Registrar's office will only accept cards stamped
by the Mathematics Department for all enrollment
changes in math courses during the first 2 weeks of
classes.
Since placement approval is required for Math 10A
and 20A, students wishing to add those courses must
obtain approval from the Mathematics Placement Office
at 3231 Literature Building. The Mathematics Placement
Office is also authorized to stamp cards for enrollment
changes. See page (29) of the Enrollment Information
As of Winter 2005, prerequisites will be strictly
enforced for all lower-division Math courses. For more
information, please refer to UCSD Course Catalog.
Placement web site at: http://mathtesting.ucsd.edu/
See page 29 for information on the Math Placement Exam.
Students may receive credit for MATH 15A or CSE 20,
MATH 15B or CSE 21, MATH 166 or CSE 105, MATH 176
or CSE 100, and MATH 188 or CSE 101. A petition is NOT
required because these CSE and MATH courses are cross-
referenced. Students may take the equivalent courses in
either department for repeat credit when necessary.
Please note that Math 21C and 21D have been renumbered
as Math 20C and 20D beginning Fall 2003.
