Full Seminar Title: Economics and the
Transfer Student. This course is designed
to help transfer students get the most from
their education in the Economics
Department at UCSD by (1) minimizing the
adjustment period to a new University and
Department and (2) reducing the number
of costly mistakes made due to a lack of
information about how things work in the
Economics Department. The types of
issues that will be discussed include: what
services are available at the Economics
Department Undergraduate office, what is
the best way to get to know the faculty when
classes are so large, how to prepare for an
advanced degree, what are the benefits of
the honors track, where are the best areas
to study on Campus, and what can you do
with your undergraduate BA/BS degree.
Seminar will meet Sept. 27; Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25;
Nov. 1.
