You must take an online placement test if you have not
taken JAPN 10C at UC San Diego, even if you have passed
an AP test or have taken Japanese language courses at a
different institution. In addition to enrolling in a
lecture section, you must sign up for a tutorial
section at http://sections.ucsd.edu/. More details
(tutorial section schedules, enrollment period, etc.)
will be e-mailed to you from the Japanese Studies
Program (japan@ucsd.edu). It also will be available
via TritonEd website after Monday, September 25, 2017.
You are required to attend the same tutorial section
on MWF. You do not need to register for the tutorial
sections listed under the lecture section in which you
enrolled. (Note: some tutorial sections maybe
cancelled.) Contact your instructor if you have any
concerns. GPS students who have prior experience in
learning Japanese must directly contact your GPS
advisor.
