Bayesian models of social cognition - How do we reason
about other people, and infer others' traits, mental
states, communicative intent, and social affiliations?
Recently, a broad array of work has conceptualized
social reasoning as rational Bayesian inference, and
constructed formal models of social conceptual content
and reasoning processes. In this course, we'll dive
into recent literature on Bayesian models of social
cognition, including some work on social cognition in
children. Several guest speakers will lead discussions
(as will students in the course).
