An ecological approach to parasitology. Students will
gain the intellectual and practical foundation required
to undertake parasitological research. Lectures will
cover ecological/evolutionary concepts and the biology
of various parasitic taxa. In labs, students will learn
how to survey hosts for parasites, to collect &
identify parasites, to perform infection experiments,
and to collect and analyze data. Students will also
develop scholarship skills by delving into the
scientific literature. Prerequisites: BILD 1, BILD 2,
BILD 3, SIO 183, SIO 184 or consent of instructor.
