Investigating the origins of cognition in infancy: How can we understand the earliest stages of human cognition, and the learning processes that are critical for its further development? This class will explore the methods (e.g. behavioral, physiological & cog neuro) and experimental designs researchers use to understand how infants think in the first year of life, via several case studies drawn from perception and social cognition. We will also discuss what is at stake for broader theories of human cognition and learning.
