E-Check Help

What is E-Check?
[
top|next]

With E-Check via TritonLink you may make an online payment that will debit your checking account. You will need your bank's ABA routing number and your checking account number. Both of these numbers can be found at the bottom of one of your checks. Your bank can also provide this information to you.

If you plan on making regular payments through E-Check, you can create your Account Profile at E-Check Payment Tools. An account profile will store your account information for future payments. This will eliminate having to re-enter your payment information each time you use E-Check.

You will always be able to review payment information from your payment history. You will see how much you paid, when you paid it, and the checking account it was paid from.

Note: As with a paper check, transactions returned due to insufficient funds will be subject to a $35.00 returned check fee.

Is using E-Check safe?
[top|previous|next]

Yes. Once you choose to make a payment, the latest security technologies are used, including Verisign Certificate and Secure Socket Layer 3.0, 128-bit encryption and BlowFish encryption algorithm.

What browser can I use?

What is the difference between "Pay Last Statement" and "Pay Current Balance"?
[top|previous|next]

"Pay Last Statement" allows you to pay the amount due on your last statement. This amount is updated as new billing statements are issued to you. It is not updated in real-time.

"Pay Current Balance" allows you to pay all the unpaid charges on your account. This amount includes the balance of your last statment adjusted by any charges and credits posted after the statement date.

Please note that if your current balance is less than the amount due on your last statement, you may only pay your current balance.

Can I choose any amount to pay with E-Check?
[top|previous|next]

The E-Check service only allows two payment options, "Last Statement Amount" or "Current Balance". If you would like to pay a different amount, you may do so through the Cashier's Office.

Can I choose what charges my payment is applied to?
[
top|previous|next]

E-Check does not offer that option. If you would like a payment applied to a specific charge on your account, you may do so through the Cashier's Office.

Can I pay with a credit card?
[top|previous|next]

The University does not accept credit cards because of the service fee charged by the banks. This charge, which is considerable, may not be passed back to the individual student but would have to be paid by general student funding and there are not surplus funds for this type of program.

If you are looking for a way to spread out your payments, you may apply for the Triton Registration Installlment Payment Plan (TRIP). This program is approved by the Associated Students and is designed to assist those students who have difficulty paying their mandatory registration charges in one payment. Students who use TRIP may pay fees in up to three installments.

Why am I getting a message that I may not pay using E-Check?

You may have a payment hold on your account. You may view any such holds on StudentLink and get information on how to resolve them.

You are able to select statements from the last 14 months; however, if you had no balance and no activity in a billing cycle, no statement was created.

View Your Account Activity

You are able to view all the transactions on your account, including recent transactions since your last billing statement. Transactions are listed in transaction date order and show the description, reference number (if applicable) and amount as either a credit or a charge.
